Replacing conservatories with extensions often means ripping out old inadequate foundations. Because of a nearby oak tree, we opted for a concrete pad / ground beam foundations.
The pitch of the roof and the cranked steel was dictated by the pitch angle of the existing, which then continued on the return, leaving a flat roof at the top which was nicely finished with a bespoke roof lantern.
Internally the old kitchen was knocked through to the extension to give an open plan kitchen diner. Additionally we turned the old dining room into a utility room and a ground floor shower room.
